Novelas históricas requieren mucha investigación, que me apasiona. Mis historias son ficticias, pero ambientadas en hechos históricos reales. Quiero que mis lectores sientan como era vivir en la primera mitad del siglo veinte, en los países donde desarrollo mis novelas, y vivir acontecimientos históricos dramáticos con mis personajes.
Mis novelas Los Titanes del Pacífico y Bendito Asesinato, transcurren durante la década de 1930, cuando el mundo se precipitaba hacia una de las épocas más aterradores de la historia.
Mis novelas se basan en emocionantes acontecimientos históricos en países donde he vivido en América Latina, Europa, Extremo Oriente y Oriente Medio.
El novelista peruano Mario Vargas Llosa, Premio Nobel de Literatura, dijo: “Un escritor no puede evitar involucrarse en la política en países como el mío donde la situación económica y social es dramática. Es crucial que los artistas muestren la importancia de la libertad para la sociedad y para las personas. Nunca debemos aceptar que la libertad debe ser sacrificada en nombre de la justicia social o la seguridad nacional, como nos quieren hacer creer totalitarios de extrema izquierda o reaccionarios de extrema derecha”.
Los abusos contra los derechos humanos y la corrupción son temas fundamentales en mi propia obra. Me complace apoyar organizaciones como Amnistía Internacional, Human Rights Watch y Transparencia Internacional.

Historical novels need considerable research, which I thoroughly enjoy. My stories are fictional but set in a real historical context. I want my readers to feel what it was like to live in the first half of the 20th century in the countries where I set my novels, and to experience real dramatic historical events with my characters.
My first novel, The Titans of the Pacific is set in 1930, when the world was hurtling towards one of the most terrifying periods in history.
My novels are based on exciting historical events in countries where I have lived in Latin America, Europe, the Far East and the Middle East.
Peruvian novelist Mario Vargas Llosa, Nobel Prize for Literature, said: “A writer cannot avoid political involvement in countries like mine where the economic and social situation is often dramatic. It’s crucial that artists show the importance of freedom for society and for individuals. We must never accept that freedom should be sacrificed in the name of social justice or national security, as totalitarians from the extreme left or reactionaries from the extreme right would have us do.”
Human rights abuses and corruption are issues embedded in my own writing. I am pleased to support organizations like Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and Transparency International.
